About:

Lawrence has been running competitively since his teens and still competes actively today. With over 40 years of competitive running experience, he has the expertise to guide both new and seasoned runners. He is a highly motivated coach with the drive and desire to help others reach their health and fitness goals.

He has been an assistant coach with ActiveSG since 2018, where he co-coaches a group of 50 runners. He coaches runners who have difficulties completing their training; discussing and understanding their challenges and enabling them to overcome their struggles. He also guides new runners in warm-up and warm-down exercises.

He has also been a personal coach from 2018. He specialises in implementing thorough warm-up, warm-down and strengthening exercises for runners. He plans training programs for each individual to improve at a pace suited for them. This ensures that injuries are prevented and that they achieve their goals within the targeted period.

Lawrence has represented Singapore in marathons and track events since early 1990, often in 5,000m and 10,000m races as a masters athlete. He completed the 2018 Boston Marathon at the age of 51 with a time of 3:32:45. He believes that running is a life skill that can be cultivated through proper training and a healthy mindset. It is a way to keep healthy now and even after your retirement.
